Jocurile, definite ca activităţi cu scopuri şi reguli dar care
sunt amuzante sau destinate pentru agrement, au fost folosite la orele EFL și
ESL de zeci de ani, şi au generat o gamă largă de cărţi folositoare şi foarte
creative, registre de lucru şi articole.Cu toate acestea, ceea ce este încă relativ nou, dar face pași
mari în domeniul larg al marketing-ului, instruirii și acum educaţiei, este
conceptul de „gamification”, care, deşi integrat ocazional, nu ar trebui să fie
confundat cu „jocurile”.
